Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) affects up to 4% of male and 2% of female adult population. Its characteristics are: habitual loud snoring, witnessed sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness. If not treated this disorder could increase risk of hypertension, stroke, traffic and work accidents, depression, diabetes. This is a nice-looking version of the four major tests used to assess sleep apnea risk: Berlin Questionnaire, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Flemons formula e STOP BANG. Additionally it calculates BMI (body mass index) to evaluate if you have normal weight or some degree of obesity. This application may be useful for physicians and patients to evaluate OSA risk with validated (and portable) scientific measuring tools and it is useful to follow-up patients on CPAP therapy.
