View all the sporting action and keep up to date with the results of the 2016 School Games. Hosted by the world class sporting facilities of Loughborough University, the Games takes place from 1-4 September and features 1,600 young athletes from across the UK competing in 12 sports, seven of which include disability disciplines. This four day spectacular replicates the experience of a major sporting event - with opening and closing ceremonies, an athletes’ village and a full education programme, the Games gives competing athletes a unique insight into the world of elite sport. The Games have provided a springboard for many of today’s biggest names in sport. Previous competitors include Paralympic gold medallists Ellie Simmonds and Jonnie Peacock along with GB sprinter Adam Gemili, heptathlete Katrina Johnson-Thompson, and Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty. We hope you will join us in cheering on our young competitors and, against the backdrop of the Rio Games, thinking – who’s next? The School Games is supported by National Lottery funding from Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust.
